MapLink provides an easy to use, versatile and affordable GIS (Geographical Information System) where the map can be used to link directly to information about objects on the map and where the map can be automatically coloured in to help visualise the data. Typical examples would be in cemetery management, housing, asset management, customer/membership locations, arboriculture and forestry, farming, grounds management – in fact anywhere where features on a map have data associated with them.

Pear Technology’s mapping software has been successfully linked to or integrated with third-party applications in property management, farming, local council and irrigation control software.
Mapping functionality can be built into third-party Windows applications in several ways:
- PT-Mapper or MapLink is launched from the main program.
- MapLink contains a control dll that enables other applications to communicate in both directions.
A map window can be seamlessly integrated into the third-party application, giving exactly the desired functionality plus a single installation and simplified support.
